Ben See
Composer, London

Ben is a singer, composer and choir leader from London. He specialises in new vocal music and community singing projects. Ben's music has been played on BBC6Music, BBC Radio3, BBC London and Resonance FM. His compositions have been sung and performed in concert halls and venues all over the UK, including the Southbank Centre, Kings Place & the Union Chapel. Recent composition projects include an #AdoptAComposer collaboration with Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra (funded by Making Music, PRS Foundation and BBC Radio3), a new commission for the German Choir of London and a choral score the ORA Singers.

I’m so excited to be one of the composers joining Streetwise for the Re:sound project. I had a great time working with Streetwise last summer on their digital lockdown project ’The Deer’, and I’m looking forward to collaborating again in person. Streetwise is a wonderful organisation with heart, imagination and ambition. Although I do a lot of work with singers and choirs, opera is relatively new ground for me, so I’m looking forward to having my ears opened to new sounds, methods and ideas. It will be great to learn and grow as a composer, and I’m excited about co-creating something totally new which speaks to London life and its people.
